Since its founding in 1987 at the University of Michigan, Amazin' Blue (AB) has produced 16 studio albums and performed at a cappella venues throughout the nation. AB is the only university-sponsored a cappella group on campus. We are proud to share our music with the Michigan community alongside 14 other member groups of the Michigan A Cappella Council. AB recently celebrated its 30th anniversary and accepted its 200th member, representing our long history of love, friendship, and innovation.

Frequently Asked Questions

What do i have to do to audition?

Usually, we’ll just ask you to sing a verse and chorus of a song of your choice! We prefer that you choose a pop song that you feel comfortable singing acapella for us. We will also test your range with scales, and walk you through some pitch memory exercises. Amazin’ Blue auditions are meant to be laid back and enjoyable - we just want to hear you sing!!

Audition info will be posted to our Instagram, Facebook, and this site as soon as possible! Look out for details in early September.

What is the time commitment Like?

Amazin’ Blue rehearses 3 times a week for 2-3 hours. Additionally, we have performances throughout the semester, and may have extra rehearsals before concerts or competitions. Many of our members are able to be involved in multiple other activities on campus! While we are committed to musical excellence, which requires time, we are also committed to the happiness and academic success of our members. :)
